I could be wrong, but I believe that once (or other numbers) removed also applies to younger generations, so your first cousin’s child would be your first cousin once removed. I probably should have looked that up to make sure before typing this, but I am a lazy bum.

That’s so cool that you made this video this week! We’re reading The Great Gasby in my English class and Daisy is Nick’s second cousin once removed. My second cousin once removed goes to college in the same area as me (Fargo/Moorhead area) I didn’t meet her until we were both in the middle of nowhere on a retreat.

I always wondered about the once/twice/thrice-removed stuff. I’ve asked a bunch of people, and even though no one knew the answer I never bothered to look it up. But it wasn’t until I saw this video that I realized that I also didn’t know what first/second/third cousins are. But now I know everything! Thank you, Dustin.
