I’m not a historian but I adhere to the same principles that govern their work, one of which consists of not letting their emotions cloud their judgment. A historian must collect evidence, interpret it and incorporate it into his work. Not try to make the evidence fit his theory…
The bulk of my evidence comes directly from oral accounts(oral tradition) and historical investigations conducted by well respected African historians.
take care man

conqueror, that you seem to be propagating, are afrocentric nutjobs, more concerned about uniting Africa and its diaspora than setting the record straight with respect to one of the most significant and tragic episodes in the hstory of Man.
I don’t harbor any resentment towards present-day Africans for what took place, nor towards the actual descendants of those who sold our people up the river.
In fact, I am married to an African woman whose tribe took part in the Slave Trade

It’s not a question of “wanting to believe” my friend. I simply refuse to close my eyes to the truth. But solely imputing responsibility to Europeans instead of recognizing the culpability of both Euros and the African elite, would constitute historical falsification. Various African countries are recovering from their “historical amnesia” and are beginning to acknowledge their decisive role in the Slave Trade. The only people who subscribe to the fairytale of the all-powerful Euro

@PrinceNoirAmericain Listen friend, if you want to believe that Africans sold your ancestors into slavery thats your business. But know that it didnt happen that way. Regardless of your “historical evidence”, it all stems from the eurocentric viewpoint. They taught you and modern africans these lies, and your repeating them. Thats fine, but know that we didnt sell you. The same way europeans tricked the native americans, and slaughtered them, the same thing applies here. They cannot be trusted.

I do agree, however, that things have to be contextualized.
Check out this video I translated, one of the biggest Affrican singers in Benin
watch?v=3PWa0iNe9GQ
The song is called “commerce triangulaire”/Transatlantic Slave Trade, be sure to activate subtitles. He really sets the record straight. Most African historians have no problem admitting that it was a profitable trade in which those in power, for diverse reasons, voluntarily engaged.

False, you need to read your own African historians, the truth has already come out

role in the under-development of the newly created microstates
I am in no way implying that current issues in various African countries are due to slavery…

Europeans weren’t even, initially, permitted to penetrate into the interior of the lands. They dealt directly with the representatives of the Kings and in some cases, directly.
It was a TRADE, a quite lucrative one I might add. No matter what justification we put forth (African kingdoms were at war, the prisoners of war were sold off for brandy and weapons), doesn’t matter. It doesn’t negate the fact that it was a trade, a trade that played a role in the development of white nations and a huge

Africans bear no responsibility for they were merely “punk’d” and coerced into satisfying their demands for human cargo, doesn’t do justice to the greatness of pre-slavery, pre-colonial African kingdoms. Many of which had a level of social, political and military organization and sophistication that impressed Europeans themselves.

There is no historical basis or evidence to support such outlandish claims. If we agree that the Transatlantic Slave Trade is the biggest tragedy to ever befall Mankind through its magnitude and duration(300/400 years), then that means that African Kingdoms and Empires were essentially comprised of criminals and rapists, who made up the bulk of slaves.
So during 400 years, only criminals were sold lol.
The 2nd claim according to which the white man is solely responsible and that

Africans, let me be specific, those whose ancestors may have played a role in the capture and enslavement of millions of innocent souls, need to come to terms with their genocidal legacy of economic cooperation and collaboraton with Europeans. Because it seems to me that their reasoning is singularly short-sighted.
(1) Either they state that the Africans sold to Euros were all criminals and rapists
(2) or the white man simply conquered them and reduced millions of people to slavery

social, political and economic issues. Quite to the contrary, it is in fact liberating

It is beyond me why “some” Africans have a hard time accepting inescapable historical facts. I mean, the whole Kunta Kinte saga was a fairytale and doesn’t reflect what actually took place. Acknowledging that the Transatlantic Slave Trade would have never existed had the African elite (tribal chiefs, coastal chiefs, dignitarians, Kings, etc) not played a key and vital role in the capture and selling of human beings (prisoners of war/innocent civilians) to Europeans, has nothing to do with AA

@chsn09 Again, your listening to your captors for your truths. Thats fine, just know thats what keeps blacks enslaved to this day. The slave master relationship. You listen to whatever they tell you. Thats fine. No disrespect, but thats why I’m not black. I dont get my identity nor culture from slavery, and europeans who stripped you of your identity. I’m African. African > Black

@tdedenuola I’m not white! And I’m not lying to myself or lying at all. If you did not believe Afrocentric myth pseudohistory you’d know that I’m telling the truth. You also forget the FACT that Arabs were the first to start a mass migration and wave of slave trade in Africa long before Europeans did. And Europeans had help from Africans w/ the Transatlantic slave trade. Slavery had nothing to do w/ race. It was about trade, profit, and exchanging goods. Henry Louis Gates Jr has proof!

@chsn09 Keep telling that same old lie, that we sold each other… You came and captured people..I know because my parents who are from nigeria, their ancestors told them that there were oyinbo people who kidnapp people and sell them.. oyinbo means “white” in yoruba… so yea.. keep lying to yourself

Why is she crying? Vanessa A Williams is clearly of MIXED ANCESTRY. DNA testing is flawed and can’t show much really. Social context and genetic interpretation are completely different things. And her African ancestors most likely gave her ancestors to the slave traders. Africans gave away other Africans.

seems tempting but i still dont trust the enemy. dont be so naive. i mean come on. hundreds of years of mixing with different tribes we should be a mix of almost all the tribes in west africa. {also parts of north africa and central africa since slaves were snathced there to}

I’ve had the conversation before and you can sense everybody’s discomfort when it comes time for you to answer….I’ve felt the shame and the empty feeling inside, the urge to know.
I look forward to the day when I know so that I can take that back from those who robbed me of it. Not going to give a long winded speech but that is basically it.

Its hard to explain to somebody who hasn’t had this connection severed. But think of it like this. I’m sure your quite proud of your people, your family and their accomplishments. You probably say where you from with pride, like most people do.
Now imagine being in a room full of ppl talking about their ancestry and the best you can say is “my ppl come from georgia”, knowing damn well that they don’t.
